Overview
Within OneLaw, firms can use a range of statement templates to produce consistent, professional statements for different business and compliance needs.
This article provides a reference overview of the available statement template types and access to base templates that can be downloaded and customised to suit your firm’s branding and layout preferences.
For detailed setup and maintenance guidance, refer to the Statements Manual available in the downloads below.
Statement template types
Settlement Statements
Settlement Statement templates are used primarily in conveyancing matters to present a financial breakdown of a transaction at settlement. They typically summarise funds received, funds paid, and the final balance required or disbursed.
These templates commonly work with conveyancing data and, where applicable, a Conveyancing InfoSheet to capture transaction-specific details.
Reporting Statements (Trust Statements)
Reporting Statements, also known as Trust Statements, are used to report on trust account activity. They are designed to present trust movements clearly for reporting, reconciliation, or compliance purposes.
General Statements
General Statement templates act as a flexible, catch-all option for statements that do not fall into settlement or trust reporting scenarios. Firms often use these templates for documents such as GST tax invoices or other transaction summaries.
Summary AR Statement (available in 4.3 release)
The Summary AR Statement template is designed to provide a high-level view of a client’s accounts receivable position. It focuses on balances and totals without listing individual transactions, making it suitable for clients who need a concise overview of what is owing.
Transactional AR Statement (available in 4.3 release)
The Transactional AR Statement template provides a detailed breakdown of accounts receivable activity. It lists individual transactions, allowing clients to see how balances have been calculated over time.
This template is typically used where transparency and transaction-level detail are required.
Base templates and downloads
The base templates attached to this article can be downloaded and customised to match your firm’s branding, including fonts, headers, footers, and layout.
Where relevant, a base Conveyancing InfoSheet is also provided to support settlement-related templates.
Note
Base statement templates can be customised by your firm to suit your preferred layout and branding. OneLaw can also assist with customising templates if required. This assistance is provided as a chargeable service - contact the OneLaw Support team for details.
Note
If your firm has access to the OneAuthor / Document Assembly module, use the Settlement Statement base template that includes InfoSheet fields.
If your firm does not have access to this module, use the standard Settlement Statement base template.
