Overview
This webinar looks at how a law firm can grow both what it earns each year and what it is worth. It is aimed at partners, practice managers, and firm owners, including those planning for succession or an eventual sale.
The session works through four areas: treating your firm's data as an asset, removing double handling, building on good precedents and InfoSheets, and capturing senior know-how in shared AI prompts. Live demonstrations in OneLaw show how InfoSheet data entered once can filter reports and populate settlement statements and emails, and how a saved AI prompt can rank existing clients by the further work they are likely to need.
Note: This webinar shows preview versions of favourite reports, InfoSheet filters in reports, and OneLaw AI, which may differ from what is available to your firm.
In this video, you'll learn
- How profitability and value differ, and why a firm that relies on its owners is worth less
- How saved reports and InfoSheet filters turn your firm's data into an asset
- How information entered once in an InfoSheet flows into settlement statements and email precedents
- How bank upload and integrations with VXT, APLYiD, and InfoTrack remove double handling
- How conditional fields, calculated fields, and Statement Builder calculators make InfoSheets and statements quicker to complete
- How personal and firm-wide AI prompts capture senior know-how
- How a well-structured prompt gets better results from OneLaw AI
Presented by Kane Smith, Sales Executive; and Emily McDonnell, Marketing & Communications Executive

Key Takeaways
- Much of the profit gap between firms with the same revenue comes from double handling, unrecorded work, and small inefficiencies.
- Systems, precedents, and automation reduce a firm's reliance on its owners and add to what it is worth.
- With your data in one place, reports can be saved as favourites and filtered by InfoSheet fields, for example to list every settlement due in the next 30 days.
- Information entered once in an InfoSheet can be reused across settlement statements, letters, and emails, and documents created from precedents are managed directly to the Matter.
- The Statement Builder combines InfoSheet data, calculators such as the Rates Calculator, and your firm's saved narrations and undertakings into a settlement statement you can export to Word or PDF.
- Conditional fields show only the questions that apply, and calculated fields work out values such as dates, which keeps InfoSheets quick to complete. A calculated field can count working days around public holidays.
- You can save AI prompts for your own use, and your firm can keep a shared library of prompts, so the experience behind a good question stays with the firm. OneLaw AI only uses the reports the user has access to, and a person still checks its output.
- Faster work raises a billing question: if a task now takes one unit instead of three, it may be time to review how you charge for it.
