Overview
The Financial Summary can show an optional Available figure alongside the standard Trust balance. Available shows the trust money received and journaled in for a matter, less payments out such as settlements and refunds. The firm's charges reduce it only when they are collected from trust.
Available is turned off by default and is controlled by a single firm-wide Practice Setting. Once enabled, the Available row appears in the Financial Summary, directly below Headroom, on every matter where it can be calculated. It sits alongside the standard Trust balance, without replacing it.
Note: Available cannot be calculated for matters containing transactions imported or migrated from another practice management system. Those matters display a greyed-out Available – with an explanation instead.
Note: Click any screenshot to expand it for a clearer view while following the steps.
